GTA 5 sets a new record with 155M sold copies

4 November 2021

Take-Two Interactive published a new report with financial earnings for the second fiscal quarter of 2021. GTA 5 set a new record with a whopping 155 million copies sold. That spectacular number was 5 million lower last quarter.

Players are still interested in GTA Online, the multiplayer part of the game. The growing streaming culture with RP modes definitely helped a lot. Next year the game will get an enhanced edition for next-gen consoles. So there is no rush for Take-Two to push forward the release of GTA 6.

Grand Theft Auto series overall has sold 355 million copies lifetime. Red Dead Redemption 2 moved two million copies during the last quarter, and the lifetime sales of RDR 2 has now climbed to 39 million.
