Rhino Т-80 (GTA 3, Vice City)

If you want to turn the Rhino in GTA 3 and Vice City from a box on wheels into a real tank, then this is a great option. A mod that replaces the vanilla tank in GTA 3 with a T-80 was made many years ago by a modder named Majestic (but that's not certain). All versions of this mod currently available are corrupted in one way or another.

However, I was able to find an untouched version of the mod and modified it a bit:

- Changed the DFF model. In the original model, the rollers are animated, but this is achieved by the asymmetrical arrangement of small physical wheels, which leads to physics problems. I fixed the physics at the expense of the animation of the rollers (such limitations are imposed by the game engine - this is not very critical, because the tracks were still static). Also, the position of the seats has been corrected - the main character will no longer pass through the textures when the turret rotates.

- Created its own collision. The original mod used the vanilla Rhino collision, because of which the tank touched every bump with its bottom and could hardly go anywhere. My collision fixes this, and it also better matches the shapes of the T-80.

- Changed handling.cfg. The behavior of the tank now looks like the behavior of the Rhino from San Andreas and more corresponds to tracked vehicles - improved grip, cross-country ability, sharp turns have become possible. Also, the mass has been brought to realistic values, and the acceleration has been slightly increased (because the vanilla Rhino accelerates too slowly for a modern MBT).

- Added alternative textures. In the original mod, the tank has a very bright color, which not everyone will like. I made 3 alternative camouflage options to choose from - dark, light and winter.

The mod works in both GTA 3 and Vice City and fits perfectly into the visual style of both games. DMagic1 Wheel Mod is required for correct operation. In the archive you will find detailed installation instructions, as well as the original mod files in case you don't like my changes.

Note: The original T-80 mod was made a long time ago, and therefore it is not possible to contact its author - contact information cannot be found (it is not even quite clear who the author is). However, if he asks to delete the file, I will do it.
