TEM1 (diesel locomotive with electric transmission, shunting, type 1) is a Soviet large-scale 6-axle shunting diesel locomotive. Structurally, it is a combination of a body and a diesel engine (with some changes) from TE1 with bogies and electric motors from TE3. It became widespread in the country, and later the release of its enhanced version, TEM2, was launched. The production of diesel locomotives of the TEM1 series began in 1958 on the basis of the TE1 BMZ series.
