The main character, Paul, has always dreamed of becoming a brave police officer. After graduating from the academy, he went to Los Santos. There he got a job at the LSPD. In the city he meets his childhood friend Frank. Frank offers to open a casino and Paul realizes that this is the only way out of poverty. They take 5,000 dollars from the gang of "Fire Niggners" in debt. However, the business goes bust and Detective Paul has to steal. From the news, he learns that his neighbor received $100,000 after her husband's death.
