GAFE - Grupo Aeromóvil de Fuerzas Especiales (Spanish - Special Military Airmobile Group), was created by the Mexican government in 1986 to ensure security at the 1986 World Cup, the group was trained by such world-famous special forces as the French "GIGN", American " Green Berets", and the Israeli "Sairet". They were actively used in the suppression of the uprising by the Zapatista National Liberation Army (1994-1995), and the Narcotics.
