The Mexican FX-05 Xiuhcoatl assault rifle (Xiuhcoatl - lightning snake (Aztec), a symbol and weapon of the Aztec god Huitzilopochtli - the god of war and patron of Mexico), developed in 2005 for the Mexican army as a replacement for the HK G3 assault rifles, was adopted in 2008. It is an almost exact copy of the H&K G36, thanks to this "almost" the company H&K was unable to win a lawsuit for illegal copying, filed by it in 2007.

Мексиканский автомат FX-05 Xiuhcoatl (Xiuhcoatl — змея-молния (ацт.), символ и орудие ацтекского бога Уицилопочтли — бога войны и покровителя Мексики.), разработан в 2005 г. для Мексиканской армии в качестве замены штурмовых винтовок HK G3, принят на вооружение в 2008 г. Является почти точной копией H&K G36, благодаря этому "почти" компания H&K не смогла выиграть иск о незаконном копировании, поданный ею в 2007 г.
