* Giant panda, or bamboo bear (lat. Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is a mammal of the Bear family with a peculiar black and white coat color, which has some signs of raccoons. The only extant species of the genus Ailuropus of the subfamily Ailuropodinae. Giant pandas live in the mountainous regions of central China: Sichuan and Tibet.

Единственный современный вид рода Ailuropus подсемейства Ailuropodinae. Большие панды обитают в горных регионах центрального Китая: Сычуань и Тибет.
