GAZ-3110 was a further upgrade of the GAZ-31029 model with a complete replacement of all external body panels, including the roof panel, but excluding the doors. In 1997, a limited "transitional" series was produced, completed with interior door skins and wheels from the previous model. Initially, narrow black thermoplastic bumpers were installed on the car, since 2000 they have been replaced by voluminous overhead fiberglass bumpers. The salon was completely updated and began to generally meet the standards of inexpensive foreign cars in terms of decoration.

ГАЗ-3110 представлял собой дальнейшую модернизацию модели ГАЗ-31029 с полной заменой всех наружных кузовных панелей, включая панель крыши, но исключая двери. В 1997 году производилась ограниченная «переходная» серия, комплектовавшаяся внутренними обшивками дверей и колесами от предыдущей модели. Изначально, на машину устанавливались узкие бампера из чёрного термопластика, с 2000 года они были заменены объёмными накладными стеклопластиковыми бамперами. Салон был полностью обновлён и стал в целом соответствовать по отделке стандартам недорогих иномарок.
