The Porsche Taycan is a four-door sedan with frameless doors and two trunks: the main rear one holds 366 liters, while the front compartment is designed for 81 liters. With a length of 4963 mm and a width of 1966 mm, the electric vehicle is 86 mm shorter but 29 mm wider than the Porsche Panamera liftback. It differs from its main competitor by mere millimeters: the Tesla Model S measures 4975 and 1965 mm respectively. The body structure is steel, but most of the outer panels are aluminum. The Taycan is built on the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, developed jointly with Audi specifically for electric vehicles (the same platform will be used for the Audi e-tron GT sedan). Notable features include an integrated traction battery in the floor's structural framework and a compact arrangement of auxiliary units, allowing for more under-hood space and a lower center of gravity: it is located 420 mm from the asphalt, 20 mm lower than that of the Porsche 911.
