The Council. Act 2: War and Peace

Hello again, DYOMers! Today I present to you the second act of The Council project — an interactive movie consisting of three acts. Currently available for download are the following acts:

Plot.

June 7, 1989.

Several days have passed since Louis DeGre arrived on Lord Mortimer's island. The atmosphere at the reception becomes increasingly tense: relations between France and Germany are on the brink of transitioning from a cold war to armed conflict, and the interactions among the guests increasingly resemble theatrical performances to DeGre. To assist in the search for Harry DeGre, Louis's father, the President of France — François Mitterrand — is heading to the island. At the same time, Helmut Kohl — the Chancellor of Germany — also arrives at the mansion. Over time, Louis realizes that his father's disappearance is not accidental, and the oddities occurring during the guests' presence on the island follow a certain pattern. In such conditions, it becomes nearly impossible to keep the situation under control, so DeGre struggles to maintain a balance between war and peace...

Author's recommendations.

- Unfortunately, one of the issues with this project is crashing during some missions. I recommend saving your progress before each mission and remembering the location of the checkpoint for that mission. The "Investigation" mission is particularly problematic in this regard.

- If you encounter a black screen at the start of a mission, press ESC or minimize to the desktop and re-enter the game — the screen will start up.

François Mitterrand — President of France. Arrives on Lord Mortimer's island to assist in the search for Harry DeGre and to resolve the conflict with Chancellor Kohl.

Helmut Kohl — Chancellor of reunified Germany. Was invited to the reception and arrived immediately after a letter sent by Lord Mortimer.

Mikhail Gorbachev — General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. Arrived on the island at the invitation of Lord Mortimer to participate in the ongoing meeting.
