An extraterrestrial piloted object crashes over the desert, possessing a strong magnetic field that disrupts all electronic devices, including the navigation system of Dietrich's helicopter and his friend Charlie Frost, a schizophrenic theorist. Mad Frost is desperate to make contact with the alien visitors, but he is outpaced - the object is already being handled by the army of the most influential man on the planet, Michael Madness, known as the "Black Hand." It seems that Madness is on the brink of new cosmic discoveries, having acquired a mysterious space-time engine that makes anything possible.

Над пустыней терпит крушение внеземной пилотируемый объект, обладающий сильным магнитным полем, которое выводит из строя все электроприборы, включая навигационную систему вертолета Дитриха и его друга Чарли Фроста, теоретика-шизофреника. Обезумевший Фрост полон надежд установить контакт с внеземными гостями, но его опередили - объектом уже занимается армия самого влиятельного человека на планете, Майкла Маднесса,- «Черная Рука». И похоже что Маднесс встал на пороге новых вселенских открытий, заполучив таинственный пространственно-временной двигатель, с помощью которого возможно все.
