The new version of OpenIV 2.8 focuses on openFormats, Package Installer and user interface improvements. Added support for simple GTA 5 models in openFormats. Very soon you will be able to create and edit YDR and YDD models using 3DS Max.
List of major changes:
openFormats for Grand Theft Auto 5
Added the ability to export and import for YDR/ODR and YDD/ODD models. In order to work with new formats, you need new tools; plug-ins for 3DS Max will be released very soon. Currently, there are some limitations in editing models, but they will be removed in future versions.
Package Installer
The Package Installer now writes a log file, so it will be a little easier to determine what went wrong during the installation of the mod. Also, in the new version 2.1 of the OIV package format, commands for editing XML files were added, as well as other minor changes. You can find the new specification here.
Admin Notice
If you need, OpenIV will help you set the permissions for your game folder, and you will no longer have to run OpenIV as Administrator.
UI improvements and bug fixes
Many minor UI improvements and various bug fixes have been made. For example, you may notice new commands for working with global search results.
