Grand Theft Auto Online is a vibrant and standalone online world designed for 16 players, utilizing gameplay features, geography, and mechanics from GTA 5, while being enriched with new content released by Rockstar Games and members of the GTA community. Grand Theft Auto Online builds on the fundamental concepts of GTA, including freedom of movement, entertainment, and mission-based gameplay, making all of this accessible to multiple players in a detailed online environment.
In Grand Theft Auto Online, players can freely explore the world alone or with friends, complete missions cooperatively, team up and participate in various events, or play in traditional modes with the community. All of this operates within the gameplay mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.
Players can invest money into their character, customizing their appearance, enhancing their abilities, purchasing unique vehicles, private properties, completing various tasks, earning reputation and money to unlock new opportunities and climb the criminal ladder. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will continuously grow and evolve with the addition of new content.
Access to Grand Theft Auto Online will be free for those who purchase GTA 5. Multiplayer access will be available starting October 1.
