GTA III is a great game, but it has some glitches that make it less enjoyable to play. People often point out the missing headlight crowns, but the game also has an infamous "purple nine" glitch.
This little plugin fixes both of these problems and also corrects some other minor things.
SilentPatch fixes:
- The mouse will no longer wander out of the game, allowing you to play on multi-monitor installations without problems;
- The game now runs a little better at high FPS. It will no longer freeze during fades, although there are still problems with car physics, gravity and sounds. Therefore, it is recommended to continue playing withenabledframe limiter;
- Reflections on wet roads are displayed correctly again (same as with Road Reflections Fix)
- All texts now have correct shadows (depending on the selected resolution, without the fix they appeared thinner, etc.);
- Headlight crowns are now displayed correctly (as they are on PS2, XBOX and PC Steam versions). This headlight fix is probably the best, since it duplicates the fix from the Steam EXE and thus there are NO bugs (as with other fixes, where the headlights can be seen through the car, etc.);
- Fixed a glitch with "purple nines";
- Rhino caused by a cheat code will no longer remain on the map forever;
- Blista can now be lifted by the Car Crusher crane - in exchange, it will no longer be able to lift Coach;
- Shooting the M16 in first person now correctly increases the statistics of the bullets fired (so you won't be able to beat Accuracy greater than 100%);
- The destination mark now scales correctly to fit the resolution;
- Text related to garages and rampage missions are now correctly scaled to fit the resolution;
- In 1.0, the armor cheat is now TORTOISE - as in 1.1 and Steam versions;
- In 1.0, the BOOOOORING cheat now works correctly - as in 1.1 and Steam versions.
DDraw fixes some game problems that cannot be solved by SilentPatchIII.asi due to the fact that ASI files are loaded relatively late in the game.
DDraw corrections:
- If the settings file is missing, the game will now adjust to your resolution instead of 640x480x16
- The DirectPlay dependency has been removed - this should improve compatibility with Windows 8 and newer
- The game will no longer crash on startup if Data Execution Prevention is enabled for all applications
- Error I can't find enough free video memory, which appeared on some computers, has been removed
- The path to the User Files folder is now reached differently, with the hope of increasing the compatibility and prospects of the game
Installation is very simple. The patches will take effect automatically.

GTA III — отличная игра, но она имеет некоторые глюки, делающие её менее приятной для игры. Люди часто указывают на отсутствующие короны фар, но игра также имеет позорный глюк с "фиолетовыми девятками".
Этот небольшой плагин исправляет эти обе проблемы и также корректирует некоторые другие незначительные вещи.
Исправления SilentPatch'а:
- Мышь больше не будет уходить за рамки игры, что позволило играть на мультимониторных установках без проблем;
- Игра теперь работает немного лучше на высоких FPS. Она больше не будет зависать при "затуханиях", хотя до сих пор имеются проблемы с физикой машин, гравитацией и звуками. Поэтому рекомендуется продолжать играть с включённым ограничителем кадров;
- Отражения на сырой дороге снова отображаются правильно (как и с Road Reflections Fix)
- Возвращёно свечение под пикапами оружия/здоровья/брони, значками-взятками, скрытыми пакетами и пикапами денег — оно было только на PS2 из-за бага во всех PC-версиях;
- Все тексты теперь имеют правильные тени (в зависимости от выбранного разрешения, без фикса они появлялись тоньше и т. д.);
- Короны фар теперь правильно отображаются (как это есть на PS2, XBOX и PC Steam версиях). Данный фикс фар, вероятно, самый лучший, так как он дублирует фикс из Steam EXE и тем самым НЕТ никаких багов (как и с другими фиксами, где свет фар может быть увиден сквозь машину и т. д.);
- Исправлен глюк с "фиолетовыми девятками";
- Rhino, вызванный чит-кодом больше не будет стоять на карте навечно;
- Blista теперь может быть поднята краном дробилки машин — взамен, теперь он не сможет поднять Coach;
- Стрельба из M16 от первого лица теперь правильно приращивает статистику выстреленных пуль (таким образом вы не сможете побить Точность больше, чем 100%);
- Отметка назначения теперь правильно масштабируется под разрешение;
- Тексты, связанные с гаражами и rampage-миссиями теперь правильно масштабируются под разрешение;
- Отражения на машинах теперь правильно отображаются на Steam-версии;
- В 1.0 чит на броню теперь TORTOISE — как в 1.1 и Steam версиях;
- В 1.0 чит BOOOOORING теперь работает правильно — как в 1.1 и Steam версиях.
DDraw исправляет некоторые игровые проблемы, которые не могут быть решены путём SilentPatchIII.asi в связи с тем, что ASI-файлы загружаются относительно позднее в данной игре.
Исправления DDraw:
- Если файл настроек отсутствует, игра теперь будет подстраиваться под ваше разрешение, а не 640x480x16
- Зависимость от DirectPlay была удалена — это должно улучшить совместимость с Windows 8 и новее
- Игра больше не будет вылетать при запуске, если Предотвращение выполнения данных включено для всех приложений
- Ошибка Не могу найти достаточно свободной видеопамяти, появляющаяся на некоторых компьютерах была удалена
- Путь к папке User Files теперь достигается иначе, с надеждой на увеличение совместимости и перспективности игры
Установка очень проста. Извлеките контент архива в папку с III (то есть SilentPatchIII.asi и ddraw.dll оказываются в основной папке игры, а particle.txd оказывается в папке 'models' и вот и всё. Патчи вступят в силу автоматически.
