This mod brings the iconic atmosphere of the original Grand Theft Auto (1997) to an updated world. All the main graphic elements have been reworked to make the game feel like GTA1 in a modern setting.
Main changes:
- Roads — textures from GTA1, with redesigned road markings.
- Grass and water — updated using original GTA1 materials, particle effects added.
- Sidewalks — classic yellow brickwork.
- Player — a low-poly model wearing a yellow jumper and blue trousers.
- Weapon icons and HUD — redesigned in the style of GTA1, with Powerhouse font and original icons.
- Radar — based on the map from the GTA1 set.
- Menu and screensavers — classic background, DMA intro, and artwork featuring characters from the original game.
- Game world:
- Rocks, cliffs, bridges, dams, and trains now feature GTA1 textures.
- Trees and grass have been updated.
- Time cycle — eternal sunny days and bright blue skies.
- Additionally — improved player skin, higher quality menu background, and hidden Easter eggs.
Installation:The files are replaced in the root folder of the game.
