SilentPatch v1.1 Build 7 with support for Rockstar Games Launcher
GTA III is a great game, but it has some glitches that make it less enjoyable to play. People often point out the missing headlight crowns, but the game also has an infamous "purple nine" glitch.
This little plugin fixes both of these problems and also corrects some other minor things.
SilentPatch fixes:
- The mouse will now not extend beyond the gaming rectangle, allowing you to play it on multi-monitor setups without any problems.
- A more accurate framelimiter that slightly reduces latency spikes when playing with the framelimiter
- The game will no longer prompt for a CD once all audio files have been copied to the ! disc!
- In 1.0, cheat armor is now TORTOISE - just like in versions 1.1 and Steam
- In 1.0 BOOOOORING the cheat now works correctly - just like in versions 1.1 and Steam
- Mouse sensitivity is now correctly saved - like in versions 1.1 and Steam
- Purple Nines bug fixed
- The game now runs a little better at high FPS. It no longer freezes on fades, although it still has issues with vehicle physics, gravity, and sounds. Therefore, it is still recommended to play with the frame limiter set to ON.
- Rhino no longer stays on the map using a cheat code
- Blista can now be lifted by the Crusher's vehicle crane - it can no longer lift Coach
- Shooting the M16 in first person mode now correctly increases the bullet's shot rate (so you can't get more than 100% accuracy)
- Reflections on wet roads are displayed correctly again (as with the road reflections fix)
- Reintegrated light is on when receiving weapons/health/armor, bribes, hidden packages and money - these were only shown on PS2 due to a bug in all PC versions
- Text related to garages and rampages now scales correctly to ! resolution!
- All texts now have correct shadows (depending on the selected resolution, without correction they look thinner, etc.)
- Free respirators will not continue the new game now
- Fixed ambulance and fire truck dispatch timers - they are now reset in New Game
- The game will now not generate more than 32 splashes - although this never happened in an unmodified game, it could happen due to exploits and could potentially corrupt the save.
- The FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING flag has been removed from IMG read functions - speed up streaming
- Alt + F4 now works correctly
- Some car panels now become detached after a car explodes (as intended, but the code forced them to fix them immediately after being damaged)
- Pathfinding for vehicles chasing the player has been improved (in particular, this may result in Decoy being much more playable)
- All censorship from the German and French versions of the game has been removed
- Bombs in cars stored in garages are now saved correctly
- Fixed a bug that caused games to freeze if III/VC/SA were running at the same time
- Car generator counters now work correctly for generators with a fixed amount of spawning
- Keyboard input latency decreased by one frame
- Fixed a crash after a short game without a sound card
- Made the game select metric/imperial units based on the system locale settings. This can be overridden from the INI file
- Car reflections are now displayed correctly in the Steam version
