Many may be surprised, but GTA 1 had Multiplayer, and officially with the assistance of DMA design (Rockstar Games). In multiplayer, up to four players could play simultaneously on one server. This launcher is capable of working as a launcher, but it has additional features, where the most basic one is the ability to play GTA 1 on some server over the network. By launching the game through the launcher, you can play regular GTA 1.

In addition to the main function, the launcher makes launching GTA 1 more convenient:

The launcher fixes the PLAYER_A.DAT file every time this program is launched, then it proceeds to launch the game.

What does this mean (in more detail):

During normal startup, GTA I changes the hex address byte "H4" from "06" to "00" every time the game is launched, causing the game to crash on subsequent launches. If you start the game through the launcher, then this launcher replaces the byte in the “PLAYER_A.DAT” file with “06”, then this program starts launching the game.

Многие могут удивиться, но Multiplayer на GTA 1 был, причём официально при содействии DMA design (Rockstar Games). В мультиплеере могли играть до четырёх игроков одновременно на одном сервере. Этот лаунчер способен работать как программа запуска, однако имеет дополнительные возможности, где самая основная — это возможность играть в GTA 1 на каком-нибудь сервере по сети. Запустив игру через лаунчер, можно играть в обычную GTA 1.

Помимо основной функции, лаунчер делает запуск GTA 1 более удобным:

Лаунчер исправляет файл PLAYER_A.DAT при каждом запуске этой программы, затем она переходит к запуску игры.

Что это значит (более подробно):

При обычном запуске GTA I меняет байт шестнадцатеричного адреса «H4» с «06» на «00» при каждом запуске игры, вызывая сбой игры при последующем запуске. Если запустить игру через лаунчер, то этот лаунчер заменяет байт в файле «PLAYER_A.DAT» на «06», затем эта программа приступает к запуску игры.

Установка:

Закиньте файлы из архива в главную директорию игры.

Совместимость:

Игра может быть как Windows-версией ( из Steam или Rockstar Classics), так и обычной, а может быть версией на MS-DOS.
