Researchers from China and Singapore conducted an unusual experiment, creating an AI based on ChatGPT and instructing it to complete Red Dead Redemption 2. The artificial intelligence was able to complete most of the tasks.
During the experiments, CRADLE (as the AI model was called) coped well with story missions, but experienced difficulties in shootouts or in tasks to find something in the open world. The biggest difficulty was caused by the quest in which Arthur Morgan needed to protect Dutch during the shootout with the O'Driscolls in the Prologue. The AI simply couldn’t keep up with its opponents.
The experiment itself demonstrated the fact of how quickly artificial intelligence learns. In the future, systems like CRADLE could be used to develop and test games, and even create advanced NPCs. Let us remind you that a data miner recently found various voice acting options in the Red Dead Redemption 2 files. In one of them, the “voice” of Dutch Van der Linde made a funny mistake.
