Obbe Vermeij (Obbe Vermeij), a former employee of Rockstar, shared in his blog that the company could have released a game about zombies under the codename Z, which was supposed to run on the Vice City engine.
According to Obbe, the idea to create this project was discussed after the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game's events were supposed to take place on a fog-covered Scottish island. According to the developers' concept, gamers needed to explore the location in search of fuel for their vehicles while simultaneously defending themselves against zombies. The studio considered the project too depressing, so after several months, they decided to abandon it and focus on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Additionally, Obbe shared details about Agent. Initially, it was a regular demo using the GTA Engine, which they decided to turn into a full-fledged game. The project was in production for about a year, but its development was not progressing as well as the studio had hoped. Initially, the developers decided to scale back the game, and ultimately, they abandoned it altogether, focusing all their attention on Grand Theft Auto 5.
Rockstar Games has already contacted Obbe and asked him to delete all his posts.
