Dataminer Tez2 made a comment on the problem with cheaters in GTA Online. GTA 5’s PC recent patch addressed spoofed IDs and names and made invite-only lobbies more secure. The bug had existed in GTA Online for almost 10 years and allowed cheaters to connect to any player in a public or private session.
Your traffic may now be routed through relay servers, depending on latency, to protect your IP. Unfortunately, modders have found a new exploit that disables synchronisation with other players. It looks like everyone's suddenly leaving, this wouldn't disrupt your single-player experience.
All of these problems exist in Red Dead Online as well. The game is no longer supported and it is hard to believe that the bugs will be fixed.
