Last week, journalists at Kotaku reported that Rockstar Games is facing difficulties with the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which could lead to the game's release being postponed to the fall of 2025 or even the beginning of 2026. Insider Tom Henderson has already debunked the information, and now his note has been supplemented by his colleague, Senior Editor of Insider Gaming, Mike Straw.
Straw reached out to several sources and found out that the development of the sixth installment is on schedule, and he hasn't heard any speculation that the game might be delayed. The journalist later added that for Rockstar to postpone GTA 6, something extraordinary would have to happen.
"Saying this again since people are still running with it: I've reached out to multiple sources and was told the game was "on schedule" and that any suggestion of a delay at this point in development is "pure conjecture"," Straw wrote.
It's worth mentioning that the game will only be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. Previously, technical experts said that GTA 6 is unlikely to run at 60 frames per second, but later, a Rockstar employee stated otherwise.
