Former Rockstar technical director and one of the creators of GTA 3, Obbe Vermeij, praised the fans who managed to port the game to Sega Dreamcast. In the past, the studio planned to include the console in the list of platforms, but abandoned this idea. A team of five enthusiasts took up the implementation of the idea back in July. During this time, they have done a lot of work, having finally managed to achieve serious success: GTA 3 can now be launched on Sega Dreamcast without modifying the RAM. True, the port is still far from ideal, but it is already quite playable. Obbe Vermeij noted the fans' efforts, praised the developers on social networks: «There is an impressive effort going on to make GTA3 run on the Sega Dreamcast. The first months of development of GTA3 were done on the Dreamcast. For commercial reasons we switched to PS2. At the time we did think it was technically possible to pull it off on the DC and these guys are actually doing it. Nice one». Earlier, the ex-Rockstar employee presented his new game.
