The Yarygin pistol (GRAU Index - 6P35) is a Russian-made self-loading pistol. Developed by a team of designers led by V. A. Yarygin, serial production was mastered at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant.
In 1990, the USSR Ministry of Defense announced a competition for a new pistol, designed to replace the PM pistol, which is in service, but does not fully meet modern requirements (R&D program Grach). In 1993, a pistol designed by Yarygin was submitted to this competition. According to the test results, in 2000 the pistol (named MP-443) became the winner of the competition. In 2003, under the name "9-mm Yarygin pistol" (PYa), he was adopted by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
As of the beginning of 2010, Yarygin pistols began to enter service with units of the Russian Armed Forces, internal troops, special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and other law enforcement agencies.
In 2012, the officers of the Western Military District began to master the Yarygin pistol as a new regular weapon

Пистолет Ярыгина (Индекс ГРАУ — 6П35) — самозарядный пистолет российского производства. Разработан коллективом конструкторов под руководством В. А. Ярыгина, серийное производство освоено на Ижевском механическом заводе.
В 1990 году Министерство обороны СССР объявило конкурс на новый пистолет, призванный заменить состоящий на вооружении, но не вполне отвечающий современным требованиям пистолет ПМ (программа НИОКР «Грач»). В 1993 году на этот конкурс был представлен пистолет конструкции Ярыгина. По результатам испытаний, в 2000 году пистолет (получивший наименование MP-443) стал победителем конкурса. В 2003 году под наименованием «9-мм пистолет Ярыгина» (ПЯ) он был принят на вооружение Вооружённых сил Российской Федерации.
По состоянию на начало 2010 года, пистолеты Ярыгина начали поступать на вооружение подразделений ВС России, внутренних войск, специальных подразделений МВД РФ и иных силовых структур.
В 2011 году был налажен массовый выпуск ПЯ для армии РФ. В 2012 году пистолет Ярыгина как новое штатное оружие начали осваивать офицеры Западного ВО
