The weapon was developed by the German company Heckler and Koch for special operations forces and is a greatly shortened modification of the MP5 submachine gun. Fits freely under clothing, car glove box and other limited spaces. Recently positioned in the global arms market as a personal defense weapon (Personal Defense Weapons PDW). Combat characteristics are almost the same as those of the original sample. A shortened barrel and a small-capacity magazine make automatic shooting not entirely accurate and expedient, but very effective at short distances. A telescopic sight can be used on the MP5K submachine gun. On the MP5KA1 model, the front sight and scope protrude very slightly from the smooth surface of the receiver, in order to prevent them from catching on clothing or a holster when removed. The MP5KA4 modification is equipped with an automatic fire control device (fixed bursts of three shots each).
