GAZ-3102 "Volga" is a Soviet and Russian middle-class car, produced from December 22, 1981 to 2009 by the Gorky Automobile Plant. Developed on the basis of the GAZ-24 Volga car, the GAZ-3102 was supposed to be its successor. However, for a number of political and economic reasons, this car was produced in small batches (about three thousand cars a year), instead of mass production, exclusively as an office car of the Soviet mid-level nomenclature (these were positions that had not yet been assigned to the GAZ-14 limousine "Seagull", but the status required separation from the general stream; such were deputy ministers, directors of large trusts and enterprises, heads of famous theaters, generals, prominent academic laureates, editors of publications, directors, etc.).
