T-6 Texan - American light training aircraft. Used to train fighter pilots in the United States Army, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other British Commonwealth air forces during World War II and post-war until the 1950s.
The first flights of the prototype took place on April 1, 1935. Serial production - since 1937. A total of 15,495 T-6 aircraft of all modifications were built. The aircraft was used to a limited extent in a number of wars and armed conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, Kenya, Algeria), mainly for front-line aerial reconnaissance and correction, less often as a light attack aircraft.
