Now on the streets of Ukrainian cities there are a large number of different minibuses on the chassis of the Russian Gazelle. Many of them were produced in the small town of Chasov Yar, Donetsk region. Chasovyarsky Repair Plant (CHRZ) was founded in 1958 as an automobile repair enterprise. During the Soviet period, major repairs of GAZ and ZIL trucks were carried out here, and special vehicles on the UAZ chassis were produced. Despite the crisis in the Ukrainian automotive industry in post-Soviet times, the plant not only maintained its production, but even increased volumes and expanded the range of equipment produced. The first product of the Chasovyarsky plant was the SPV-15 minibus (SPV-33021.01.15) with 14 seats. Its body of original design is a welded frame made of rectangular pipes, sheathed on the outside with steel and fiberglass panels. In 2003, GAZ restyled the base model GAZ-3302, which was also reflected in the design of the Chasyar minibuses. In the same year, production of the SPV-15 model was finally discontinued, and SPV-16 minibuses began to be produced under the Ruta brand. With the advent of more spacious SPV-17 minibuses, production volumes of SPV-16 began to decline and, as a result, their production was also discontinued.
