News papers

What is this modification?

1. News papers about events related to the player or the game world;
2. Working newspaper vending machines. Both the player and random passers-by near the newspaper vending machine can read newspapers;
3. Sometimes newspapers can be found on the ground in places where people walk.

More about the events that can be found in newspaper headlines:

1. If the player is arrested by the police (in the city or rural area);
2. If the player is shot by the police;
3. If the player escaped from police pursuit (from level 2 and above);
4. If the player captured enemy territory (Gang War);
5. After completing some missions, their consequences will also be written about in the newspapers (Works only with the natural passage of the game) :
   1. After the "Green Sabre" mission;
   2. After killing officer Eddie Pulaski;
   3. After killing officer Frank Tenpenny (Game finale).

Any event that will be written about in the newspapers lasts until the next day.

Pedestrians at newspaper vending machines can only be found after any event. Pedestrians will have several reactions when the player approaches:

1. Will just continue reading the newspaper;
2. Will leave while reading;
3. Will start looking at the player, but will soon continue reading;
4. Will start looking at the player, and then run away in panic (if the event is related to the player);
5. Will start looking at the player, and then start attacking (if the event is related to the player).

The player can read newspapers at a newspaper vending machine or find them on the ground even when nothing happened, but you won't read anything interesting in them.

• Now NewsVan is not such a useless machine in the game, it will drive and follow the player at level 2 wanted. Inside you can see a person with a photo camera. So that's where the photo of the main character on the newspaper covers comes from!;

• Added animation and sound when buying a newspaper;

• Fixed the newspaper text with officer Eddie Pulaski, now the text corresponds to the game lore. Thanks gohan;
• All newspapers have the emblem "SAN NEWS" in the title, which connects the modification with the news car and helicopter, as well as with the game lore in general;
• All text is output to a .fxt file so that users can edit or translate it;
• Subtitles have been added to newspapers;
• Added translation into other languages: Russian (by gund), Portuguese (by KaiQ).
