San Francisco news service cameraman and just a good guy Peter Stanford, in pursuit of sensational material, accidentally (or not) films the death of a woman in a fire that started because of an earthquake. Осознав, до чего он дошел, Питер пытается исправить жизнь сыну этой погибшей в огне женщины, который оказался в интернате, и знакомой проститутки Николь, надеясь на то, что что-то человеческое от такой "работы" в нем еще осталось.
