The Lotus Carlton is a Vauxhall Carlton / Opel Omega A modified by Lotus, reaching speeds of up to 287 km/h with an acceleration equal to that of today's sports cars. Like all Lotus cars, it was given a type designation - in this case Type 104. Exterior changes were minimal with the addition of a rear spoiler, hood vents, Lotus badges on the front fenders and trunk lid, and significantly wider wheel arches distinguishing it from a standard Carlton or Omega. The car was only sold in one color, a shade of green called Imperial Green (similar to British Racing Green).
