This patch allows you to play GTA IV (IV / TBoGT / TLAD) on a very weak PC without changing the quality of the game. All game content is preserved and not cut or otherwise changed, but the game's performance is achieved by changing the graphics.
The patch was tested on 2 old PCs:
1) Pentium 4 2.8 GHz, 1 GB DDR1 RAM, GeForce 6600 128MB
2) Celeron B800 1.5 GHz, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, Intel HD Graphics (RAM usage)
On both computers the game ran quite smoothly, about 15-25 frames per second.
P.S. Somehow before I already posted a similar patch, but I was not the author of it. In this case, I studied the topic and achieved the effect of sufficient performance by reducing the demands of the effects through the settings of directx parameters in the game graphics. Timecyc and visualeffects were also slightly modified.
I want to highlight the main advantage - better performance (especially noticeable on very weak hardware) compared to the previous patch that I posted earlier. In this patch, the game launches in full screen mode by default (in another patch I previously published, the game launched in a window).
To summarize, I will say the specific minimum requirements for launching and comfortable gaming with this patch - for old video cards (GeForce 6xxx, 5xxx) - 128 MB or more, for relatively old laptops with integrated video cards - 1.5 GB of RAM for Windows XP, 2 GB of RAM for Windows 7.
P.S. Guys with medium hardware, for whom the game did not work or played poorly at maximum settings - with this patch you can safely play at maximum or near maximum settings - the picture will become more crisp, but it all depends on which options you will increase in the game graphics settings menu.
All this became possible thanks to lowering the level of DirectX “coolness” set by the game by default.
