The patch allows you to play GTA IV on a very weak computer (2004). This is the latest version of the patch for running GTA 4 on a weak computer, according to the publisher, dated January 14, 2012 (see author's website).
What this patch changes: - Sets an extremely small draw distance (50-100 meters). - Removes all passers-by and traffic from the streets. Only special actors are left in a minimum number - these are the police, firefighters, hot dog sellers, girls of easy virtue, etc. - Minimizes visual effects (explosions, illumination, bloom, glare, etc.) Tire and blood textures remain.
The patch is placed on top of the original game. Graphics settings are set to minimum.
I have successfully patched GTA IV 1.0.6.0 with Russian localization. Everything happened on a Pentium4 2.8Ghz computer, 1024Mb DDR-I, 128Mb nVidia GeForce6600, paging file size (pagefile.sys) - 2GB. The resulting frame rate in the game: 8-14FPS, in cutscenes and missions 5-11FPS. At the same time, before starting the game (with the patch installed), I previously completed all non-system processes and disconnected all network connections. The launch took place alternately on the following operating systems - Windows XP SP2 and Windows 7 (without SP). The difference in performance and frame rate is negligible, but if you have less than 1.5 GB of RAM, it is recommended to play under Windows XP.
