Have you ever feel that most of the default colors for the vehicles in GTA IV & EFLC are very generic and boring, comparing them with the ones from GTA V? Well, I decided to modified the carcolor.dat, making some new attractive colors for the vehicles. Originally, this was just a little experiment to understand how the color system for the vehicles works in GTA IV & EFLC, and when I discovered how make some more attractive colors like the ones from GTA V, I decided to upload this as a little, but interesting mod, nontheless.
The colors that I modified and also swapped in a way are:
-1. Black
-10. Gray Poly
-29. Formula Red
-51. Green
-61. Pastel Alabaster Solid
-65. Jasper Green Poly
-69. Surf Blue
-74. Ultra Blue Poly
-89. Taxi Yellow
-99. Classic Red
-102. Biston Brown Poly
-124. Temple Curtain Purple
-133. Very White
Also, I chose to turn the #69 Blue into Orange, and I also turned the #112 White into the exact same type of Black that I made for the #0 Black, because those are the default colors that Rockstar Games chose for Johnny's Hexer Bike. So in other works, this mod also changes the color palette of Johnny's bike completely. The bike instead of being Blue and White, now is Orange and Black.
However, because of this modified colors that I made, I also had to choose another default color palette for some vehicle for both GTA IV & EFLC. Because some of the vehicles' colors, like the police vehicles and the Caddy from TBoGT turned into orange and/or black, which they don't fit at all with the actual vanilla game, so I tried my best to patch this little details as much as I could and during my test with the gameplay, I don't saw much difference with the vanilla version. Except that the modified version of the 4-door Sultan from the Korean Mob in Alderney have now this new blue that I made. But I left that color palette for that vehicle untouched on purpose, because this new blue that I made kinda reminds me to the type of blue that the North Korean flag actually have (which that is the specific Korea that those mobsters came from).
But if you want these new colors for specific vehicles that you want. I'm afraid you are gonna need a mod to customize your vehicles, or using a trainer.
