This game is certainly great, but it has some problems. This patch fixes some of them.
Changes in this version: - The mouse will now not go beyond the "game rectangle", which allows you to play it without problems on multi-monitor installations. - More accurate frame limiter, slightly reducing lag spikes when playing with frame limiter enabled. - The game will no longer ask for a CD when all audio files have been copied to the disc. - In 1.0 the armor cheat is now TORTOISE - like in versions 1.1 and Steam. - In version 1.0, the BOOOOORING cheat now works correctly - like in versions 1.1 and Steam. - Mouse sensitivity is now correctly saved - like in versions 1.1 and Steam. - Headlight crowns are now displayed correctly (similar to the PS2, XBOX and PC Steam versions). - Fixed Purple Nines bug. - The game now runs slightly better at high FPS. Therefore, it is still recommended to play with the in-game frame limiter. - The Rhino tank obtained with a cheat no longer stays on the map. - Now the tow truck can lift the Blist car and cannot lift the Couch bus. - Firing the M16 in first person now correctly increases bullet spread (so you can't get more than 100% accuracy). - Reflections on wet roads now display correctly (similar to road reflection fixes). - "Reintegrated" light glows when receiving weapons/health/armor, bribes, hidden packages and money - these were only shown on PS2 due to a bug in all PC versions. - The label (destination) is now properly scaled to your screen resolution. - Texts related to garages and rampages now correctly adapt to your screen resolution.
- Now you will not be repainted for free the whole game. - Fixed ambulance and firetruck dispatch timers - they now reset in New Game. - Now the game will not create more than 32 marks - although this never happened in the unmodified game, it could be due to exploits or mods and could potentially corrupt the save. - The FILE_FLAG_NO_BUFFERING flag has been removed from the IMG read functions - this speeds up data streaming. - Alt + F4 now works correctly. - Some car parts are now detached after the car explodes (as intended, but the code forcefully fixed them immediately after being damaged). - Metric to imperial conversion constants have been changed to more accurate ones. - Pathfinding for cars chasing the player has been improved (in particular, this could lead to "Decoy" being much more playable). - All censorship from the German and French versions of the game has been removed.
- Fixed a bug that caused games to freeze if III/VC/SA were running at the same time. - Car generator counters now work correctly for generators with a fixed number of spawns. - Keyboard input lag decreased by one frame. - Fixed a crash after a short game session without a sound card. - Made the game select metric/imperial units based on local system settings. - Fixed rendering of "crowns" on non-NVIDIA video cards. - Fixed the sound of the secondary FBI siren. - Fixed siren crown placement in Firetruck, Ambulance, Enforcer. - Fixed taxi light crown placement. - Fixed spotlight placement for police helicopter. - Increased the "Bounding box" of the Catalina Helicopter and Police Helicopter so that they don't get cut off at the edges of the screen. - Fixed disappearance of taps and night windows when viewed from a close distance. - Fixed a bug due to which light taxis appeared in traffic jams.
Supported game versions: - GTA III 1.0 (all versions) - GTA III 1.1 (all versions including Steam and Rockstar Games Launcher)
