GTA3D. Bringing back the past, step by step.
Grand Theft Auto 3D- the result of the work of many modmakers to return the GTA III look at the very early stages of development. This modification recreates Portland as DMA intended, using leftover game files, HD textures, and materials created from scratch.
Portland is approximately 60% recreated, almost every pedestrian and vehicle from the early screenshots is present in the modification. Staunton and Shoreside are not available because there is no information about their appearance in early versions.
For now, the modification uses a modified freeroom. Any missions are missing and it is not recommended to play standard GTA III with this mod.
Known Issues:
- The interface has some problems: the money counter does not work properly, the names of audio equipment categories extend beyond the screen, there is no support for widescreen monitors.
- Although most of the bugs have been fixed, the modification may be unstable.
- Only the English text has been changed.
- The original alpha models of the school bus and tank have one door, which causes the game to crash. For now they have added “false doors” to work correctly.
- Most cars have original dummy layouts that cause drivers and passengers to walk through the textures. This will be fixed in future updates.
Installation:
1. Copy the audio folder from the original game directory to where you want to install the modification.
2. Copy the contents of the gta3d_3-1-2019 folder from the archive to the selected installation location, confirming the replacement of files.
3. Play!

Grand Theft Auto 3D — результат работы многих модмейкеров по возвращению GTA III вида на самых ранних этапах разработки. Эта модификация воссоздает Портлэнд таким, каким его задумывали DMA, используя при этом остатки из игровых файлов, HD-текстуры и созданные с нуля материалы.
Портлэнд воссоздан примерно на 60%, почти каждый пешеход и транспорт из ранних скриншотов присутствуют в модификации. Стонтон и Шорсайд недоступны, так как об их виде в ранних версиях отсутствует какая-либо информация.
Пока что модификация использует измененный фрироум. Любые миссии отсутствуют, и не рекомендуется играть в стандартную GTA III с этим модом.
Известные проблемы:
- Интерфейс имеет некоторые неполадки: счетчик денег не работает должным образом, названия категорий аудиооборудования выходят за пределы экрана, отсутствует поддержка широкоэкранных мониторов. Могут присутствовать оригинальные элементы интерфейса.
- Хотя большинство ошибок было исправлено, модификация может работать нестабильно.
- Изменен только текст на английском языке.
- Оригинальные альфа-модели школьного автобуса и танка имеют одну дверь, что вызывает вылеты игры. Пока что им добавлены "фальшивые двери" для корректной работы.
- Большинство машин имеют оригинальные расположения "дамми", из-за чего водители и пассажиры проходят сквозь текстуры. Это будет исправлено в будущих обновлениях.
Установка:
1. Скопируйте папку audio из директории оригинальной игры туда, куда вы хотите установить модификацию.
2. Скопируйте содержимое папки gta3d_3-1-2019 из архива в выбранное место установки, подтвердив замену файлов.
3. Играйте!
