Leslie Benzies, former president of Rockstar North and producer of the Grand Theft Auto series, has denied the allegations that surfaced in recently unsealed documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Through his representative, Benzies emphasized that he only had a consensual three-month relationship with the individual mentioned in the documents, and that he never met Epstein, never visited his island or properties, and never traveled on his plane.
“These allegations are false, I had a 3 months consensual relationship with this person, and I have never met Jeffrey Epstein, nor have I ever visited his island, his properties or travelled on his plane. Any suggestion otherwise is misleading,” the statement reads.
The U.S. Department of Justice documents include testimony from Sarah Ransome, one of Epstein’s victims, who claims she was abused by Benzies and that Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser was aware but did not intervene. The materials provide no evidence of direct connections between Benzies or Houser and Epstein himself.
Benzies is currently working at Build a Rocket Boy, the studio he founded after leaving Rockstar. Its first game, MindsEye, launched last year and has faced criticism and rumors of a troubled development.
Recently, the studio was involved in a conflict with YouTuber Cyber Boi, who released a video about Benzies’ name appearing in the Epstein case documents. Build a Rocket Boy co-CEO Mark Gerhard threatened legal action against the YouTuber via the studio’s official Discord channel, after which the video was removed. Previously, Cyber Boi had tried to clarify a number of internal rumors and financial accusations related to the studio, but had not received any official notifications from Build a Rocket Boy.
