In a recent episode of the Insider Gaming podcast, the hosts — including insider and journalist Tom Henderson — discussed the key questions surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6, such as its release timing, pricing, and the PC version. They stressed that these are personal predictions rather than insider reports, but noted that they are confident in their assessments.
According to the Insider Gaming team, GTA 6 is guaranteed to release this year, and Rockstar Games is unlikely to be able to afford another delay. The journalists believe the launch will be so massive that it could put serious strain on internet infrastructure, which is why Rockstar may need to open preloads weeks in advance, or even a full month before release.
Pricing was also a major topic of discussion. Their forecast is as follows:
the base version of GTA 6 will cost $80;
expanded editions will be priced at $100 and $130;
a collector’s edition could cost around $300.
At the same time, the hosts doubt that the collector’s edition will offer anything truly impressive, as Rockstar traditionally focuses more on digital bonuses rather than high-end physical collectibles. Despite this, Insider Gaming believes that $80 will not become the new industry standard, and that most AAA games will continue to launch at $70.
As for the PC version, it is expected to arrive around a year after the console release, roughly in fall 2027. GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Recently, an interesting rumor also surfaced from an industry veteran, who suggested that GTA 6’s online mode could deliver an experience comparable to full-fledged MMORPGs.
