Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick gave an interview to CNBC in which he was repeatedly asked about GTA 6's release date. The host suggested that the company's projected revenue growth in 2025 and 2026 could be linked to the release of the new Rockstar title.

Strauss Zelnick countered that GTA 6 does not yet have a release date, and 36 Take-Two games will hit the market in that period. However, such a boom in revenue has not previously been seen from any release, not even Red Dead Redemption 2. For all the host's arguments, Zelnick was referring to the company's release plan.

Many fans felt that Zelnick was evasive and that Take-Two was preparing for the release of GTA 6 exactly in 2025 or 2026.
